Your Success & Trophy Moments

The Olympic Games in Tokyo ended last weekend. However, in Ireland, we are still basking in the glory of our medal winners, especially Kellie Harrington, who won gold on the very last day in the boxing ring.

Kellie captured the hearts of the country, not only because of her performances but also because of her determination and humility. She is an example to us all.

“The last mile is never crowded. That’s how it does feel sometimes. It does feel very lonely. That’s the difference, being able to hold on in there and keep going.” – Kellie Harrington

The BBC coverage of the ceremony captured an amazing moment after the anthems, when Kellie pulled her fellow fighters to the top podium to share a picture.

Once the picture was done, they then all huddled together to celebrate their achievements over the course of the games.

“We are all champions. Anyone who steps between those ropes are champions.” – Kellie Harrington

Whatever your definition of a champion is, we have all had a wide variety of success and trophy moments during our lifetimes.

It can be anything simple from learning how to ride a bike, learning to cook, saving up to get your first car, finishing university, to having children etc.

It doesn’t matter whether they were important to anyone else. It only matters that they were memorable moments to you and for you.

Bringing those moments back to mind can be one way to build solid foundations of character, mindset, attitude and focus moving forward.

  • When you are ready, take a few moments to reflect on some of them and as you do so allow yourself to relive the experience in your mind.
  • Feel what you felt, see what you saw and hear what you heard. Notice everything about the experience.
  • Run it back in your mind and bathe in your own glory.
  • Ask yourself the question below.

What do all of these success and trophy moments say about you as a person?
