Travelling and Telling Stories

An té a bhíónn siúlach, bíonn scéalach” – “He who travels has stories to tell.”

This is one of my favourite proverbs from the Irish language. It speaks to the impact of exploration, discovery, and moving into areas that have have never visited before or doing things that are new, different and challenging. The more you explore different lands, the greater the quality of your experiences, the deeper your level of awareness and learning becomes.

Travelling in time and looking back can be a great strategy to get you setting some intentions for yourself. Here below are a few questions to get you thinking!

  • Looking back from a point in time 12 months from now, what are some of the stories that you would like to be able to tell?
  • And 5 years from now, what other adventures would you like to have experienced?
  • What are some of the learnings that you would like to have had?
  • Looking back 10 years from now, how would you know that you had travelled all you wanted to?
