Presentation Skills for Teachers

This course is designed for teachers, trainers and all those in educational roles who want to develop their presentation and public speaking skills. It is also ideal preparation for teachers who have to present final year projects, give talks and for all those who have an interest in being more charismatic in the classroom.

• How to use your words and your language to sound persuasive and convincing
• How to deal with nerves and overcome stress and how to exploit relaxation and self awareness activities
• How to deal with questions and the unexpected
• How to exploit debates, speeches, improvisation games and other speaking activities with primary learners to put the tools and techniques into practice
• How to improve performance with the help of tailored feedback

The sessions will follow a workshop format and be interactive, fun, extremely practical and of immediate classroom application. The material will be presented in a collaborative way in which everyone will have the chance to contribute his or her ideas and thereby develop a creative and supportive learning environment. Teachers will have various opportunities to present as well as give and receive feedback in a developmental manner. They will also experience first hand how the tools and techniques work and the purpose they serve. Teachers will also be able to consolidate and develop their own language skills in English and get a greater awareness of up to date pedagogical approaches to this all important area.
