The Practical Use of Phonology in The Classroom
- This 21-hour course focuses on the Phonological system of English. It will provide participants with a useful review of the essential concepts and a unique opportunity to take their understanding to a deeper level. Furthermore, it will give those interested in incorporating phonology into the classroom a wide range of useful practical classroom activities. The sessions will follow a workshop format and be challenging yet very interactive, fun and of immediate classroom application.

- Examine typical phonological problems learners of English face and to provide useful strategies to help.
- Develop participants' confidence in dealing with these areas of phonology in the classroom.
- Provide a wide variety of practical activities for participants to use in their classrooms.
- Provide participants with practical strategies on how to effectively correct their learners' pronunciation.
- Encourage participants to continue exploring issues related to phonology and in the classroom when the course is over.
